It’s been over a year since my
last post and I thought about deleting my blog altogether… I mean really, who
blogs anymore?! However, I decided to keep it and randomly post as I feel the
desire to do so. The year that was 2012 was quite a year. I’m blessed beyond
measure and unable to articulate in words how truly thankful I am for the life
I’ve been given. As I just celebrated the turn of the New Year with a beautiful
kiss from my hubby, I reflect on what was. The year 2012 was not a year without
some heartbreak. Brad and I found out we were expecting in November which ended
with an ectopic pregnancy and a surgery to remove my fallopian tube. It was
quite jarring, but I know that I serve a God who is bigger than my
circumstances, so I trust His timing and will….of course we’re praying that His
will includes more children for us! We also know that His plans are better than
our own.
2012: We celebrated a promotion
for Brad, Selah's 2nd birthday, a 5 year anniversary, and just the
blessing that is the ability to walk, talk, feel, see, hear and live.
Brad and I both work with
incredible people. We couldn’t be more thankful for the colleagues that we’ve
been surrounded with. I am thankful for jobs when so many are unemployed.
We have awesome families. What a
blessing to come from parents who are married 35 and 41 years; great examples
from which to draw and look to. We have awesome siblings, in-laws, nieces,
nephews, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins. WoW! Why us? I am thankful
for loving family members when so many are lonely.
As I look to 2013, I pray that I
am more focused on others. Oh do I have a tendency to focus on ME! I know I
wasn’t created for ME….I was created for more than serving myself. In fact, I
was created to serve a Living God who loves and cares for YOU! I of course have
a bucket list for 2013, but I’ll spare you.
Happy New Year!
